The guitars hit first — loud, urgent, impossible to ignore — as Parker Woodland tore into their SXSW 2026 set, pulling the crowd closer with every note. The energy wasn’t just heard — it was felt. And at the center of it all stood Erin Walter, moving seamlessly between bassist, vocalist, and frontwoman, commanding the moment with both intensity and purpose.

For Walter, Parker Woodland isn’t just a band — it’s something far more personal.

“Parker Woodland really became this vehicle of expression for me and for everyone in the band,” she said. “The three of us are like best friends — it’s been magical.”

That connection is the foundation of Parker Woodland’s sound — a blend of indie pop, punk grit, and alternative rock that feels as emotional as it is explosive. Based in Austin, Texas, the trio has built a reputation for turning live shows into shared experiences, where the line between artist and audience begins to disappear.

Parker Woodland is known for their high-energy live performances, driven by melodic, psych-infused guitar work from Andrew Solin, pounding drums from Keri Cinquina, and powerhouse vocals from Erin Walter. Their shows are further elevated by cinematic visuals crafted by lighting designer Starr Long.

The band’s roots run deep. Walter and Cinquina first connected over a decade ago as part of the genderqueer-focused muscle rock band Butch County, while Walter later linked with Solin through mutual friend and Emmy-winning producer Matt Parmenter. Parmenter went on to record and mix the band’s 2024 album There’s No Such Thing as Time at his Ice Cream Factory Studio, which was voted Best Studio 2024 by the Austin Chronicle. Solin has since taken a leading role in shaping the band’s sound, producing and engineering recent singles including “Get Me to the Show” and “Police on My Back.”

But the band’s story didn’t start on a stage — it started in a neighborhood.

“We all lived near Parker Lane and Woodland Avenue in southeast Austin, and that’s how the band got its name,” Walter explained. “We were just friends getting together to play music, and it grew into something bigger.”

Parker Woodland.
What began as casual jam sessions quickly evolved into something more intentional. Playing covers, experimenting with sound, and eventually writing original material, the group found themselves building not just songs, but a creative identity rooted in trust and collaboration.

Walter’s own journey within the band reflects that evolution. After years of playing bass, stepping into the role of lead singer and songwriter became a defining moment.

Erin Walter of Parker Woodland at the BMI Brunch at SXSW 2026 in Austin, Texas.

“I was a bass player for years, but this band sparked me to become a lead singer and songwriter,” she said.

It’s that willingness to step into the unknown that continues to shape Parker Woodland’s approach — both musically and personally.

“When someone invites you to try something, go for it — you never know what it might open up for you.”

That mindset carries directly into the band’s music, which blends high-energy instrumentation with deeply intentional messaging.

“Music is such a powerful force for telling the truth,” Walter said. “We want our songs to reflect our real life experiences and the people we love.”

For Parker Woodland, those truths are rooted in real-world issues — and they don’t shy away from addressing them.

“We’re an activist band,” Walter said. “Our music speaks on things like identity, community, and people being over-policed — it’s a big part of who Parker Woodland is.”

Austin’s diverse music scene has played a major role in shaping Parker Woodland’s identity.

That message comes through clearly in their recent single, “Police on My Back,” a track that directly addresses themes of identity, justice, and the realities of being over-policed. It’s a song that reflects not just commentary, but lived experience — reinforcing the band’s commitment to using music as a platform for truth.

Notably, “Police on My Back” is a cover of the classic track by The Equals, reimagined through Parker Woodland’s signature sound and perspective.

“There’s this ethic of accessibility — like everyone being able to get in the pit and let it out,” Walter said. “That idea that we can do whatever we want — that’s a big part of it.”

That spirit — rooted in punk, but shaped by their own experiences — continues to define Parker Woodland’s identity as a band that prioritizes connection over perfection.

Looking ahead, the group shows no signs of slowing down. Their debut album, There’s No Such Thing As Time, introduced their sound, but new projects are already expanding it.

Currently, Parker Woodland is working on an acoustic project that strips their songs down to their core, offering a more intimate interpretation of music typically delivered with full electric intensity. At the same time, they’re building toward their next major release — continuing to evolve while staying grounded in what makes them distinct.

Still, no matter how the sound changes, the mission remains the same.

“Parker Woodland is really about creating community through music,” Walter said. “We want to meet people, connect, and bring that live experience everywhere.”

SXSW 2026 was different 🔥
Caught up with Erin Walter of Parker Woodland — one of the most authentic voices in indie rock right now. pic.twitter.com/aySwa0U3EA
— Top View TV (@topviewtv_) March 25, 2026

That sense of purpose is what sets Parker Woodland apart. It’s not just about the music — it’s about what the music creates. In a landscape where authenticity is often claimed but rarely felt, they offer something real: connection, energy, and a voice that refuses to be quiet.

With momentum building beyond SXSW 2026, Parker Woodland — led by Erin Walter — is proving that their impact goes far beyond the stage. They’re not just performing — they’re building something that resonates.

Latin Music SXSW 2026: More Than a Wave, It’s a Movement

At South by Southwest (SXSW) 2026, the conversation around Latin music SXSW 2026 made one thing clear—this isn’t a trend, it’s a global force shaping culture, business, and entertainment.

During the panel “When Culture Leads the Conversation: Latin Music’s Next Era,” held at Downright Austin, industry leaders explored how Latin music continues to evolve from legacy into global dominance.

Panelists included Logan Mulvey (CEO of GoDigital Music), Vanessa Vigil (President of mitú), singer-songwriter NEZZA, and moderator Tomás Mier.

Panelists discuss how Latin music continues to shape global culture at SXSW 2026.

.The conversation was guided by moderator Tomás Mier, a respected music journalist and digital creator known for covering Latin music and culture. Throughout the panel, Mier helped connect each perspective—bridging the gap between artist experience, business strategy, and cultural impact.

Each speaker brought a different lens to the discussion. Logan Mulvey approached the conversation from a global music business perspective, focusing on how Latin music is scaling across markets. Vanessa Vigil spoke from a cultural and brand standpoint, highlighting how platforms like mitú are creating opportunities for Latino creators. Meanwhile, NEZZA provided the artist perspective, sharing firsthand experiences navigating identity, language, and representation in today’s industry.

Latin Music SXSW 2026: Built on Legacy, Not Trends

One of the biggest takeaways from Latin music SXSW 2026 was that Latin music is not a “wave”—it’s built on history.

Artists like Jennifer Lopez and Ricky Martin helped push Latin culture into mainstream pop decades ago, laying the foundation for today’s global expansion.

What we’re seeing now is not a rise—it’s an evolution.

Culture, Identity, and the Rise of Spanglish Music

NEZZA, born Vanessa Hernández, represents the new generation of Latin artists blending cultures and sound. With roots in both English and Spanish music, she has built her identity around authenticity rather than limitation.

At SXSW, she explained how labels once pushed her to choose one language—but she refused.

Instead, she leaned into both.

Representation Matters—On and Off the Stage

A standout moment in the Latin music SXSW 2026 conversation came when NEZZA spoke about performing the U.S. national anthem in Spanish at a Los Angeles Dodgers game—despite being told no.

Her goal was clear:
to show that a large portion of the audience was Latino and deserved representation.

The performance sparked widespread attention online and became a defining cultural moment around identity and visibility.

She also noted that after the Black Lives Matter movement, more brands reached out to collaborate—often to show solidarity, though she emphasized the importance of authenticity.

Are Latin Artists Still Being Boxed In?

Logan Mulvey, CEO of GoDigital Music, spoke from the perspective of global distribution and music strategy, offering insight into how Latin music is expanding across international markets.

Logan Mulvey pushed the conversation further by questioning how Latin talent is still framed in the entertainment industry.

He pointed out that artists and actors are often labeled by their identity first, rather than their talent—raising the question of when that will change. Using actors like Pedro Pascal as an example, Mulvey challenged the idea of constantly attaching “Latin” as a qualifier instead of simply recognizing someone as a great actor.

His point wasn’t about removing culture—it was about removing limitations.

Mulvey emphasized that true progress looks like a shift in perception, where Latin creatives are no longer placed in a separate category, but exist fully in the mainstream without needing to be defined by it.

He raised a bigger question for the industry:

When will a Latin pop star just be considered a pop star?

At the same time, he acknowledged the importance of staying rooted in culture. He noted that Latin artists should continue to embrace authenticity in their music and storytelling—similar to how hip-hop and rap in the 1990s resonated deeply because they reflected real experiences and communities.

The balance, he suggested, is in being culturally grounded without being creatively confined.

In other words, the goal isn’t to lose identity—it’s to make sure identity doesn’t become a limitation.

The Business of Culture: Brands Are Paying Attention

Vanessa Vigil, President of mitú, brought a brand and media perspective to the conversation, focusing on how Latin culture is influencing not just music—but marketing, storytelling, and opportunity at scale.

Vanessa Vigil emphasized that brands are no longer just tapping into Latin culture—they’re actively investing in it. But she made it clear that real impact comes from building opportunities, not just visibility.

She pointed to mitú’s partnership with Walmart through its Filmmaker Mentorship Program, an initiative designed to support emerging Latino filmmakers and help them break into the industry.

The program acts as an incubator for new talent, selecting creators and guiding them through the entire filmmaking process—from concept and writing to production and final release. Participants receive funding (up to $50,000), mentorship from industry professionals, and access to production resources, including equipment, studio space, and creative support.

Filmmakers are also given a creator kit with cameras, lighting, and sound gear, along with hands-on training and access to mitú Studios, where they collaborate with mentors and other creators.

Beyond production, the program focuses on career development, helping participants showcase their films at festivals, build industry connections, and gain long-term opportunities in the entertainment industry.

At its core, the partnership is about amplifying Latino voices and creating a pipeline into the industry—not just creating content, but building careers.

Vigil’s message was clear: when brands invest in culture the right way, they don’t just market—they create real access..

What’s Next: Sound, Strategy, and Global Influence

Looking ahead, the panel explored what the future of Latin music could look like:

• Logan Mulvey predicts a rise in EDM and Spanish music crossovers, driven by global audiences and marketing investment.

• He emphasized that Latin artists staying true to their culture will resonate most—similar to how hip-hop grew in the 1990s.

• NEZZA highlighted that Southeast Asian artists may be the next global wave, especially those blending Bollywood and hip-hop influences.

She also teased that she has new music and acting projects on the way, continuing her evolution as a multi-hyphenate artist.

She also teased upcoming music and acting projects, signaling continued growth.

The Future of Latin Music SXSW 2026

Latin music is no longer asking for a seat at the table—it’s building its own.

From Spanglish records to global partnerships, artists are redefining culture on their own terms.

And as Latin music SXSW 2026 showed, the question is no longer whether Latin music will shape the future—

It’s how far it will go.

Austin, TX – March 15, 2026 — During SXSW 2026, Yamaha Music Innovations (YMI) delivered one of the festival’s most engaging brand activations with a three-day experience from March 13–15. The event served as the official introduction of the Yamaha Creator Pass, a new all-in-one platform designed to simplify the creative process for musicians, podcasters, and digital storytellers.

Throughout the weekend, the activation functioned as both a hands-on demo space and a networking hub, bringing together creators across multiple industries. Attendees were able to explore the platform in real time, interact with Yamaha representatives, and gain insight into how the company is rethinking the way creative tools are delivered in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

One of the biggest moments of the weekend came on March 15, when California Governor Gavin Newsom made a surprise appearance at the activation following a SXSW podcast taping. Joined by his wife, filmmaker Jennifer Siebel Newsom, and members of his team, the Governor took time to engage with the space and learn more about Yamaha’s latest innovation.

During his visit, Newsom briefly connected with Scott Yusuke Sugino, CEO & President of Yamaha Music Innovations. The two discussed the importance of accessible creative tools and the growing role of technology in empowering the next generation of creators. The visit highlighted the broader cultural and economic impact of platforms like Creator Pass, particularly as the creator economy continues to expand.

Beyond the political spotlight, the Yamaha activation drew a strong presence from digital creators, artists, and influencers who are actively shaping today’s content landscape. The space became a meeting point for collaboration, discovery, and conversation around the future of music and media.

Notable attendees included influencer and New York Times bestselling author Elyse Myers, music producer and content creator Jarred Jermaine, TikTok artist Taylor Felt, journalist and author Liz Plank, recording artist booqoo, media personality Suzanne Lambert, alternative rock group Pretty Jane Band, lifestyle influencer Alexia Del Valle, entrepreneur Kyle Kane, and software engineer and influencer Anjali Gama.

Taylor Felt and Jarred Jermaine both played key roles in representing the next wave of digital-first creators during the Yamaha Music Innovations activation. Known for blending music creation with short-form content, Taylor Felt’s presence reflected the growing intersection between social media platforms and music discovery, while Jarred Jermaine brought his perspective as a producer and content creator shaping how music is experienced online.

Together, they represent the type of creators the Yamaha Creator Pass is designed for — individuals who need efficient, high-quality tools to create, edit, and distribute content seamlessly across platforms.

Both also participated in Yamaha’s official SXSW panel, “Breaking the Sound Barrier: Making Creativity Accessible to All,” where they joined Scott Yusuke Sugino and Greg Lehrman to discuss how modern tools are reshaping the creative process for emerging artists and producers.

On March 14, Elyse Myers spent time at the activation exploring and demoing the Yamaha Creator Pass, giving attendees a firsthand look at how the platform functions in real-world scenarios.
Joey expanded on minimalist style and fashion tips, showing how small, intentional choices could elevate an outfit without relying on expensive brands. “I like to put small things together to make my outfit stand out,” he said. He also practices minimalism by giving away clothes he no longer wears, focusing on quality over quantity.

The conversation shifted to investing in creative content and business growth. Joey shared: “I put up my money to get my videos done, and I don’t wait on the labels.” Greg emphasized that financial freedom allows creators to invest in their brand, produce high-quality content, and grow their audience.

complex/chime

Investment strategies were a major topic. Joey emphasized the importance of making your money work for you, rather than letting it sit idle. Starting small – even $50 or $100 – and learning to invest is key. He recommended using Robinhood and highlighted AI as the next major investment opportunity. Greg added that for those cautious about stocks, gold is a reliable investment alternative.

The broader message was clear: financial literacy is essential. “We’re in a financial revolution,” Joey said. “If you don’t learn now, you’ll be left behind. Start with something, absorb information, and invest in your future.” This advice blended financial strategy, personal branding, and money mindset, resonating with the audience.

By the end of the panel, the takeaway was clear: financial freedom is about striking a balance, prioritizing education, and making intentional spending decisions. Whether it’s curating a standout outfit, investing in your brand, or putting money into smart assets, the key is to make your money work for you. Joey and Greg demonstrated that financial success is not just about earning – it’s about managing, investing, and growing your resources effectively.

NEW YORK – Forget everything you thought you knew about New York Fashion Week. On Friday, September 12th, Actively Black wasn’t just showing clothes—they were making history. At Sony Hall, the trailblazing Black-owned brand, led by founders Lanny Smith and Bianca Winslow, produced a private show, part of the larger Runway 7 Fashion Week, that was less a runway spectacle and more a spiritual revival. The powerful, two-hour journey through Black culture, legacy, and unapologetic pride left the audience inspired and emotional.

“I feel blessed,” said a tearful Lanny Smith, reflecting on the stress of producing a show he felt the culture desperately needed. “If you knew what it took to make tonight happen, you would know why I can’t take no credit for it. God is so good, y’all.”

Civil rights icon Ruby Bridges, the woman who, at just six years old, desegregated an all-white Louisiana elementary school in 1960, walked the runway wearing a black Actively Black hoodie dress. A painting of her iconic school walk was displayed as she strode, a stark reminder of just how recent this history truly is. Later, she shared a tender moment with actor and singer Tyrese Gibson, a testament to the community and respect that filled the room.

The runway became a stage for living history. Hassie Benjamin Haith Jr., the designer of the Juneteenth flag, jogged onto the stage to Beyoncé’s “Freedom,” his hands coming together in a prayerful embrace of the crowd. “Juneteenth is a blessing that came from our ancestors,” he later said, “I believe it’s with us today because it wants this country to change and be more humane.”

The son of the legendary Black Panther Party chairman Fred Hampton, Fred Hampton Jr., took to the runway as a powerful link to a different era of Black activism. His presence served as a potent symbol of a legacy dedicated to community empowerment and resistance, reminding the audience that the fight for liberation is a continuous, intergenerational effort.

The legendary photographer Cecil J. Williams also walked, as a video showed his iconic photograph of him drinking from a “Whites Only” fountain, connecting his past bravery to the brand’s present-day message.

Perhaps the most powerful and symbolic moment of the night was the dual runway walk of Dr. Bernice King and Malikah Shabazz. Dr. King, daughter of the revered Martin Luther King, Jr., walked out wearing an MLK-inspired hoodie with the phrase “I’m Black and Beautiful” and shared a tender moment with actor and singer Tyrese Gibson. She was followed by Shabazz, the daughter of Malcolm X, who wore a hoodie emblazoned with an “X.”

They first walked individually before returning together, meeting in the middle of the runway in a profound embrace. This powerful moment symbolized the two most influential legacies in Black history uniting, a moment so moving that activist Tamika D. Mallory said, “When Bernice King came out, I thought I was going to lose it. I cried.”to lose it. I cried.”

The show was also a vibrant tribute to Black artistry and collaboration. The family of the late art icon Jean-Michel Basquiat, including his sister Lisane Basquiat, walked the runway showcasing a special collection inspired by his work.

The legendary Olympic gold medalists and activists Tommie Smith and John Carlos were honored, reminding the audience of their powerful protest at the 1968 Olympics. The show connected their iconic gesture—raising a black-gloved fist on the podium—to the brand’s mission of unapologetic Black excellence.

The event was a mixtape of Black excellence. Models wearing 365 hoodies (spelled IIIsixty5) brought out vibrant dance segments, including a West Coast dance to a “peek-a-boo” song and a New York-style jump roping routine. A drum major was brought out by Terrence J to introduce the new HBCU-inspired hoodies. The show highlighted other powerful cultural touchstones, including a tribute to the Harlem Globetrotters and a celebration of the 25th anniversary of BET’s iconic show 106 & Park, with a cameo by legendary hosts AJ & Free.

As the runway show wrapped up, Fast Life Yungstaz (F.L.Y.) hit the stage for a live performance of their hit “Swag Surfin’,” which had the entire crowd on its feet. The night culminated in an emotional climax when Bianca Winslow walked out, revealing her pregnant belly to the crowd. Following a tense countdown, the couple revealed they are expecting a baby boy in December 2025.

In a shocking announcement, the couple revealed that this would be their final show, a decision made to prepare for their new baby. “This is it. I love y’all, but this is the last one,” said Winslow. The news cemented the show’s legacy, serving as a powerful reminder that “This is Not a Fashion Show” was not just a one-off event but a timeless statement—a celebration that our history is not just in books, but is a living, breathing part of who we are today.

It’s a rare privilege to sit with a literary giant and hear the unfiltered truth about the struggles and triumphs of creativity. Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, the Nigerian author who has given the world modern classics like Half of a Yellow Sun and Americanah, calls herself simply a storyteller. But her storytelling is anything but simple—it is urgent, layered, and deeply human. Her latest novel, Dream Count, is her first in 12 years, the product of both silence and perseverance. What began as a terrifying dry spell of writer’s block has blossomed into one of the most anticipated novels of the year, a book that captures the fragility, longing, and resilience of its characters and of its author.

The Long Road to Dream Count

After the success of Americanah, Adichie found herself in a place she had never known before: she couldn’t write fiction. “I wasn’t writing at all,” she admits. The years stretched, becoming a 12-year pause from novels. When she finally returned to the page in 2021, it wasn’t without anxiety. But Adichie sees that fear not as a weakness, but as a sign of care. “Anxiety means you want to create something good—even when there’s no guarantee of success.”

Love, Longing, and Four Women

Dream Count doesn’t follow a straight line. Instead, it’s a web of interconnected lives told through four women whose voices rise and converge. “I let the characters assert themselves,” Adichie explains. At its heart, Dream Count is about love and longing. Adichie insists these themes are universal, but she is deliberate in rooting them in the experiences of Black women. Her hope? That readers will fall in love with all four women equally.

Between Two Worlds

Many of the women in Dream Count are West African immigrants, shaped by their “insider-outsider” experience. Adichie knows this duality well—she splits her time between Nigeria and the U.S. This shifting identity plays out in her characters’ struggles. One, Kajato, makes America her home only to realize the country cannot live up to her expectations.

Writing as Destiny

Adichie doesn’t hesitate when asked about her purpose. “I was born to be a writer,” she says. Even without fame, she insists she would still be at her desk, pen in hand. Of all the forms she works in—essays, short stories, children’s books—the adult novel feels most natural. Still, she delights in experimentation, like writing the sarcastic blog For Men Only, which appears in Dream Count.

Spotlight: Inprint, Houston’s Literary Gem

Adichie’s conversation took place under the banner of Inprint, Houston’s premier literary arts nonprofit, which featured her on stage with Rice University professor Ragini Tharoor Srinivasan on September 8 at the Wortham Center. Founded in 1983, Inprint has become a cultural force. Executive Director Rich Levy describes its mission as always striving to do things “better and bigger” in service to the written word.

Inprint also offers workshops in senior centers, jails, and hospitals, and Inprint House. Since its founding, Inprint has awarded over $5 million in fellowships and prizes to young writers.

From Kingston, Jamaica to the streets of New York, Sue-Ann Gordon-Pitter is proving that fashion is more than just looks, it’s energy, storytelling, and presence.

Modeling was always on her radar, but Sue-Ann first established herself as a beauty, lifestyle, and fashion content creator across social media. That foundation gave her the tools, confidence, and vision to step in front of the camera with purpose.

When asked to sum up her style, she keeps it simple: “Bold, authentic, fun.” That same spirit runs through her work. “Fashion itself inspires me. It’s ever-changing, bold, and inclusive which motivates me to express myself authentically.”

Sue-Ann Gordon-Pitter: Top View TV Photoshoot

Her recent TopViewTV photoshoot was just the beginning. Sue-Ann calls it “a good starting point” with potential to grow into even bigger projects. For her, each look carries its own energy, and she channels that vibe into the lens, making every image feel lived-in and real.

But Sue-Ann isn’t just here to strike poses. She’s intentional about what her presence represents. “Representation in fashion is about more than diversity; it’s about authenticity. Campaigns and creative spaces should reflect the world we live in so people feel included, inspired, and empowered.”

Her journey reflects that same mission. “Even though I’m still working toward the level I aspire to reach, my work ethic and persistence show what determination and vision can achieve.” Sue-Ann’s story proves that focus and creativity can take you far and inspire others along the way.

Sue-Ann Gordon-Pitter: Top View TV Photoshoot

Looking forward, she sees her path expanding beyond influencing, eyeing dream collaborations with NARS, Fenty Beauty, Too Faced, Charlotte Tilbury, and even branching into acting and fashion campaigns that tell stories through style and imagery.

With her roots, resilience, and refreshing voice, Sue-Ann Gordon-Pitter isn’t just stepping into fashion. She’s shaping it, and TopViewTV was there to capture the start of that journey.

In the vibrant, often frenetic, landscape of New York Fashion Week, where spectacle can sometimes overshadow substance, a singular event is poised to redefine the narrative. This September, Noonlight, the boutique creative studio celebrated for its cinematic storytelling, will host an exclusive, invite-only editorial shoot featuring the visionary designs of Jashaan Gill. This isn’t just a photoshoot; it’s a private sanctum, a meticulously curated creative crucible where Gill’s highly anticipated new collection will be fitted and brought to life, away from the typical industry chaos.

Gill’s designs are a masterclass in modern alchemy—a powerful fusion of innovative fabric play and culturally charged streetwear that has cemented his status as one of fashion’s most compelling new voices. Having risen from the UK to the global fashion stage, his work tells a story of cultural migration and sartorial evolution. His silhouettes are both fluid and structured, a study in contrasts that echoes the urban landscape and the raw emotion of a new generation. Every piece feels lived-in yet fiercely original, with textures that invite touch and lines that challenge convention. This intimate one-day production at Studio 1418 in the heart of the Garment District is not merely a prelude; it’s the genesis of a visual identity for his collection, which is set to debut at his runway showcase produced by ASAIN NYFW the very next evening.

At the heart of Noonlight’s visionary work is Vero Perez, the studio’s founder and director. A creative polymath, Perez brings a truly unique perspective to the worlds of fashion and film. Her artistic philosophy is a masterful blend of seemingly disparate influences: the methodical precision honed from a background in science and military service, and a passion for the avant-garde. This dual lens allows her to create work that is both meticulously crafted and imbued with a raw, unfiltered emotion. Perez’s direction is defined by a commitment to authenticity and a deep-seated belief in the power of analog and vintage techniques. She expertly merges old-world equipment with a modern sensibility, resulting in a gritty, textured visual style that stands in stark contrast to the sterile perfection of the digital age. This deliberate choice to embrace the imperfections of film gives her work a soulful, timeless quality, a quiet rebellion against the fast-fashion machine.

It is this very ethos that has fueled her dynamic partnership with Jashaan Gill. Their collaboration on the award-winning documentary “Winner” was a testament to their shared values—a mutual desire to capture genuine narratives and elevate them through a distinct artistic vision. The film, which chronicles Gill’s meteoric rise, has already earned critical acclaim and is now making waves on the global film festival circuit, proving that their synergy is a powerful force to be reckoned with.

For this NYFW shoot, Perez is not simply directing a production; she is curating a movement. She has assembled a “next-generation dream team”—a collective of fearless new voices in design, styling, photography, and production. These are creatives whose ideas are disruptive, unfiltered, and fearlessly original, and who represent the future of fashion’s independent scene. The result promises to be a visually arresting suite of images, high-gloss short-form content, and promotional visuals that will capture the authentic pulse of New York’s creative underground. With this production, Noonlight continues to push boundaries, proving that the future of fashion is being shaped not by grand spectacle, but by intimate narratives and visionary visual culture.
