Bruce Willis’ family announced via social media that the actor is retiring from his occupatiob due to being diganosed with aphasia. Members of Willis’ family took to social media with a joint statement to social media informing the public about the actor’s retirement. The caption read, “To Bruce’s amazing supporters, as a family we wanted to share that our beloved Bruce has been experiencing some health issues and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which is impacting his cognitive abilities,”.
“As a result of this and with much consideration Bruce is stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him.”
“This is a really challenging time for our family and we are so appreciative of your continued love, compassion and support,” the caption goes on .
“We are moving through this as a strong family unit, and wanted to bring his fans in because we know how much he means to you, as you do to him. Aphasia is a language disorder that impacts an individual ability to communicate. The disorder may happen after a stroke or head injury. It may also develop from a growing tumor or disease.The syptoms involves a individual’s ability to expres, understand written as well as spoken language.
Willis’ began his career in the early 1980s with roles such as his one in Sidney Lumet’s “The Verdict.” His part in the ABC series “Moonlighting and his iconic performance as John McClane in the movie “Die Hard”.
