The 24-year-old rapper was charged with a DUI, consuming alcoholic beverage or possessing an open alcoholic container while in a passenger area, and failure to obey a traffic laws.
The incident took place during a routine traffic stop, and the Suwanee Police Department confirmed the details in their records.
According to the incident report, GloRilla, whose real name is Woods, was pulled over by an officer after making a U-turn at a red light at Peachtree Industrial Boulevard and Suwanee Walk Avenue intersection. The arresting officer noticed her “watery and bloodshot eyes” and claimed to smell the odor of marijuana within the vehicle, as well as the scent of an alcoholic beverage on her breath.
During the traffic stop, GloRilla allegedly admitted to consuming alcohol but refused to indicate how much. She confidently told the officer that she was “good to drive.” However, when asked to perform a field sobriety evaluation, she struggled. Despite her difficulties, she denied taking a breathalyzer test, as stated in the police report.
Following the incident, GloRilla was taken into custody by the Gwinnett County Jail. However, she was released shortly after posting bond. The Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office confirmed her release to WSB-TV 2 and Action News 5. The arrest occurred around 6:12 AM ET, and she bonded out a few hours later.
