Iron Mike Tyson Checks Boosie Badazz Over Comments Made About Dwayne Wade’s Child

Boosie Badazz recently went on Iron Mike Tyson’s show Hotboxing with Mike Tyson, and the boxing legend asked the 37-year-old rapper why he made comments about Dwayne Wade’s decision to make his 12-year-old child’s gender identity situation public, BET reports.

Social media went crazy with the reaction the former champ got out of Boosie, being that Tyson actually asked Boosie of being possibly gay right to his face in the inteview as the world watched.

How The Conversation Went Between Boosie Badazz and Iron Mike Tyson

Mike Tyson and Boosie started the conversation off talking about both of them having humble beginnings, reflecting on the fact that both of them are from the slums. As they passed the big cigar back and forth, the conversation got deeper, and Tyson eventually asked him questions about his views of the world.

“How do you feel about other people’s feelings?” Mike asked. “Do you think you offend a lot of people? Do you know you offend a lot of people when you talk about ‘gay mother******s’, ‘homos’, and ‘faggots’….”

“No, a lot of times I just need to shut the f**k up,” Boosie responded.

“Why don’t you?” Mike asked.

“I don’t know man…it be hard. My mama got on my ass yesterday, talking about I need to shut the f***k up. But when it be on my heart, I just gotta say some s**t.”

Mike took the older wise man approach, and just seemed to begin to counsel Boosie in a way an uncle or a father would a younger man. “You know, sometimes,” he began, “And I know your mother has probably said this, if you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say it at all. Sometimes it’s hard to say to myself, I don’t like myself…I didn’t like myself for a long time, because I did a lot of s**t to people…I had to deal with who I am. Why do I say these things about certain people…Why do you say things about a person who might be a homosexual? Why do you say that about them? Do you think there’s a possibility that you’re a homosexual? And by disrespecting them it furthers yourself from being a homosexual? I’m thinking you may like homosexuals.”

“No, I’m straight as an arrow…”

“Well if you’re straight, then why do you offend people?”

Dwayne Wade Publicly Supported His Daughter’s Gender Identity On The  Ellen DeGeneres Show

Boosie said that the comments that he made were because he felt that it was a child, and that he disagreed with how Dwayne Wade made it public. Wade had previously appeared on The Ellen Degeneres Show, and talked to her and the audience about how much he supported his 12-year-old child, Zya, who was originally born Zion.

“Me and my wife Gabrielle are proud parents of a child in the LGBTQ community,” the former Miami Heat NBA Champion said. “We’re proud allies as well. We take our roles and responsibilities as parents very seriously. So, when a child comes home with a question, or an issue, or anything, it’s our jobs as parents to listen to that, and to give them the best information that we can, the best feedback that we can. And that doesn’t change because sexuality is now involved in it.”
