When it comes down to DJ Chose and Beat King, the new song Thick is definitely not their first time collaborating on a project. They have made multiple tracks over the years, and have also had a few bad spells between the two of them as well.
They apparently once had a small beef, but DJ Chose explained why it was nonsense on 97.9 The Box. “I called Beat King,” he said, “and he was like ‘Man, you must know I love ya, because I was about to call you too!’ We both were laughing, because neither of us are violent. We’re both on some ‘let’s get some money’ stuff. So, stuff like that only makes your relationship stronger. It may have tainted us in a way, but he knows and I know who he is. I knew that it was just a moment. I knew that didn’t represent who he really is. I know he feels the same, that it didn’t represent me in our relationship. It was just a bad time.”
The New Song by DJ Chose and Beat King, ‘Thick’
They are definitely over that bad moment these days, and with the new song, Thick, they are having so much fun on the track. In fact, Top View TV did a Behind the Scenes at the making of the new video!
The song itself is so much fun, and has that party vibe that you expect from a DJ Chose and Beat King collaboration. The bass line hits hard, and the lyrical delivery is rapid and hype. This one is the track you put on when you want a lot of twerking out of the audience!
In The Making Of The Project ‘Thick’ Project
Freddy Dang. Creator of Dang Films, Freddy Dang is hard at work again in this new video Thick. Also a native of Houston, you may remember his work a few years ago when he did Paula Deanda’s video for her song entitled Brand New in 2015. Bobby J. Beat King calls him the best photographer in the city of Houston, and Bobby has the portfolio to prove it. He is a soft-spoken guy, but has a knack for creating splendid photographs of some of the most beautiful models for his spectacular collection of images. You can follow his work on Instagram.
Musical History of Beat King and DJ Chose
Throw Dat Ahh. This one was released in 2012, and even when it’s played today it gets a crazy reaction in any club. Beat King and DJ Chose approach the track in their own way (Beat King with his hard Club God voice, DJ Chose with his laid back lyrical style), and it’s a match made in heaven.
Booty Club. This one has a mystical sound to it in the background, and DJ Chose entices the crowd to dance and make it rain in his lyrics. When you close your eyes and listen to this, you will envision the scene at the strip club.

Stand Behind Her. In the beginning of the track, you hear a reporter asking a question. “Hey, Beat King,” he says, “What are you gonna do two years after ‘Throw Dat Ahh’?” It was, of course, a track that he and DJ Chose had previously collaborated on, and when the beat drops the listener realizes instantly that they are in for some good Houston party music.
Run It Up. On this one, DJ Chose decided to use auto tunes. He says in the track “The first twenty grand, that was ‘broke’ to me…”, and the song is a motivating one for anybody out there who is trying to get their grind on and/or get in the mood to do so.

No Hands. This is one of the funkiest beats for the club, but Beat King goes acapella for a little bit in the beginning. It’s a great technique to catch the ears of club goers, and DJ Chose kills the hook and his verse.
