Disney cancels plans to construct a corporate campus in Florida. The company planned to house at least 2,000 employees. In an email to employees, Disney parks chief Josh D’Amaro explained that they would be “changing business conditions.”
“Given the considerable changes that have occurred since the announcement of this project, including new leadership and changing business conditions, we have decided not to move forward with construction of the campus,” D’Amaro wrote. “This was not an easy decision to make, but I believe it is the right one. “
Disney and DeSantis have been had been at war since March 2022. Disney’s former CEO, Bob Chapek, criticized Florida’s new laws that would limit dialogue of gender identity and sexuality in elementary schools.
DeSantis is predicted to declare his 2024 Republican nomination for US president.
