There’s a new voice arriving to talk show tv. Announced Wednesday by Warner Bros., Grammy-winning artist Jennifer Hudson will host a talk show.
“I have always loved people, and I cannot wait to connect on a deeper level and let audiences see the different sides of who I am, the human being, in return, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to do it alongside this incredible team. So we’re about to have a lot of fun and shake things up a little bit!”
Hudson was a contestant on “American Idol” before releasing numerous projects to later starring as Effie White in the 2006 flick “Dreamgirls.
Hudson recently portrayed Aretha Franklin in the movie “Respect.”
Hudson will be the second former American Idol performer to front a daytime show. Season one winner Kelly Clarkson is currently in her third season hosting an eponymous show from NBCUniversal. The show airs this fall on all fox television stations.
