Reports from news media indicate that cops were called at around 1.30 am in the NW part of the town where Kodak was arrested. He was quickly transported to the Broward Sheriff’s office main holding area. Kodak whose real name is Bill Kapri posted bond within a few hours and was released. On Jan 1, 2022, the exact reason why Kodak was arrested was not known but now the Broward County Sheriff’s Office has revealed that he was trespassing a property.
For Kodak, this latest interaction with law enforcement comes just after he recently completed a 90-day drug rehabilitation program, which was mandated by the judge after he had tested positive for MDMA while he was on probation.
In April of 2021, he was sentenced to 18 months probation for assaulting a young female in a motel room in South Carolina in a 2016 case. Initially, Kodak was charged with rape but he later pled guilty to battery and first-degree assault.
However, he started 2021 with a bang- and got a surprising reward from President Donald Trump. At that time, Kodak was serving a 3-year federal prison sentence after he was caught purchasing firearms with falsified documents. He wrote a letter to the President and the sentence was commuted. At that time Kodak had served about 18 months in prison.
In April 2020, his personal security guard was shot outside a fast food joint. Two months later, the town of Pompano Beach honored him with his own day- but Kodak soon reverted back to his old ways.
Wherever he went, turbulence followed. A few months ago, a video surfaced showing him fondling his own mother at a party but he downplayed the video by claiming it was simply horseplay. And then just prior to the new year another video was posted showing a grown female seductively twerking in front of his 6-year-old child at a baby shower- Kodak claimed it was just a fun party.
And throughout the past decade, he has had numerous legal hassles and interactions with law enforcement. Wherever he goes, trouble follows- it was initially believed that he was mixing with the wrong crowd but now it appears that Kodak is impulsive, hot-tempered, and prone to anger outbursts- worse he hates following societal rules.
Kodak Black is a talented musician having sold over 30 million singles including some platinum-certified hits like ‘Roll in Peace’ ‘Zeze; and ‘No Floking.’ But if he wants his music career to prosper he better wisen up soon- all these encounters with police may one day result in an adverse outcome. He has already had one chance to restore his life by Trump and many doubt that he will be given a second chance if he continues his volatile behavior.
