Megan Thee Stallion finally opened up and told the world that it was Tory Lanez who shot her in both feet on Thursday, August 20th, 2020 according to CNN. In a mid-July news release, the Los Angeles Police Department said that they had responded to a call at 4:30 in the morning about shots being fired near the 1800 block of Nichols Canyon Road.
The first reports about the incident say that her wounds were from broken glass, but Megan has had surgery to get the bullet fragments taken out of both of her feet, and recently showed the pictures she took at the hospital to prove it.
In the captions of the pictures she took of her feet shortly after surgery, Megan wrote “What I have learned about the majority of people on social media is y’all like to hear bad news, a lie spreads quicker than the truth, and y’all really be believing the s*** Y’ALL makeup…God was really watching over me and I’m healing so well.”
Megan went live on Instagram in July and got really emotional when she talked about and reflected on the incident. “Oh Lord,” she began. “I didn’t think I was going to cry. But yeah, I had to get surgery, it was super scary, and was like the worst experience of my life. It’s nothing to joke about. It was nothing for y’all to go around making up fake stories about. I didn’t put my hands on nobody. I didn’t deserve to get shot, I didn’t do s***… And thank God the bullets didn’t touch bones, didn’t break tendons. I know my mama and my daddy and my granny had to be looking out for me on that one…”
Afterwards she posted on Twitter “It might be funny to y’all on the internet and just another messy topic for you to talk about, but this is my real life and I’m real life hurt and traumatized.”
Support and Hate for Megan after the Shooting
On top of her getting shot, to add insult to her very real injuries former NFL player Larry Johnson tweeted “Ladies if you date a man who coined the term “Demon Time” and you get shot by him during Demon Hours, be accountable for YOUR stupidity. #ToreyLanez.” The alleged shooter then “liked” the post from Johnson.

But, everybody wasn’t saying harsh and mean things to Megan. According to Hot 97, her friend Asia Doll backed her up, responding on Twitter to everybody who called Megan a snitch, “B**** she told the full story… That midget b**** did shoot her for no reason, have you met Tory? He got a attitude of a b****… WHERE THEM HOES AT MEGAN I WANNA FIGHT… FAME DON’T CHANGE THE ARTIST, IT CHANGE THE MFS AROUND YOU.”
Atlanta emcee, T.I. called Tory out, urging him to speak up on the incident, according to XXL Magazine.
Entertainment Tonight also reported that many other stars are supporting Megan during this tough time, such as Taraji P. Henson, Chance the Rapper, Michael B. Jordan and Halle Berry.
What Happened That Morning of the Shooting
According to reports, there was an argument going on in the car that she was in early that morning with Lanez and someone from his security team. She decided to get out of the car and walk the rest of the way to the house where she was staying and that’s when she says that the Canadian Rapper Tory Lanez (whose real name is Daystar Peterson) shot her in both feet. The police did arrest him for having a concealed weapon in the car, but he was bonded out of jail that same day.

Megan said that she didn’t want to tell the police at the time because of the way that police have been killing Black people in America. She felt like if she’d told them that they had a firearm in the car, that the cops would have probably shot them.
