According to sources, three-time Emmy nominee Pedro Pascal is currently negotiating to take on the iconic superhero team’s leader role.
While a deal has not been finalized, insiders reveal that scheduling is being worked out to accommodate Pascal’s other commitments. The actor is set to star in Gladiator 2, which is expected to begin production later this year, and the highly-anticipated HBO series The Last Of Us, slated to shoot next year.
Pascal is also involved in Zach Cregger’s upcoming film, Weapons. Marvel Studios has declined to comment on the casting news. However, securing the actor for the role of Reed Richards is crucial in finalizing the rest of the cast for the Fantastic Four. With plans to start filming early next year, director Matt Shakman is currently in pre-production at Pinewood Studios in England.
